Supporting Teams in a Changing Workplace

Our president, Mike Fossano, was recently featured in an article by Sara Lavenduski in the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI)’s Counselor Magazine, discussing how businesses can better support their people in today’s rapidly changing workplace.

Mike’s message was clear: when companies lead with culture, prioritize engagement, and genuinely care about employees—both in and out of the workplace—everyone benefits.

In the article, he noted that employee expectations have shifted dramatically. Remote and hybrid work are here to stay, and flexibility is no longer just a perk — it’s a basic requirement. Employees want the freedom to balance work with their personal responsibilities, and employers that recognize and respect this will be the ones that thrive.

At the same time, Mike emphasized the importance of pairing flexibility with accountability. Trust, clear communication, and shared goals create a foundation that enables employees to succeed and companies to grow stronger.

He also stressed that today’s workforce looks beyond a paycheck. They want meaningful benefits, opportunities for growth, and a culture that supports them as whole individuals. As Mike explained, “It’s about building workplaces where people feel valued, supported, and trusted to do their best work.”

The conversation also touched on technology and AI. While automation will continue to change certain roles, Mike underscored that people remain every company’s most important asset—and investing in them will always deliver the greatest return.
