Enhancing a well-known brand

The DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomfield Hills Detroit came to us with the need to incorporate a “premium” tone into materials centered on the launch of the property. First, we identified the strengths of this DoubleTree, relative to the local hospitality market, which included higher-end accommodations such as stunning décor, an indoor saltwater pool, and on-site cocktail lounge, a unique delicatessen and premium corporate and event spaces.

A Great Brand Tells a Great Story

If you’ve grown up in the Bloomfield Hills or Birmingham area, chances are you’ve heard of the Kingsley Inn, which was a staple along the Woodward corridor for more than 50 years. We used the property’s history as leverage to raise awareness about the multi-million-dollar transformation.

To get the word out about the versatile event space within the hotel, we worked with management to identify two primary markets: corporate events and weddings. We wanted the sales pieces to reflect the space itself – beautiful and clean, with pops of color and patterns throughout, while still creating an informational piece that focuses on the details.

Retro Meets Luxury

Plans for the grand opening event included the design of a media kit, in which recipients found fun takeaway pieces such as a retro-style Zalman’s Delicatessen lunchbox and a custom wine opener kit from The Duke cocktail lounge. The lunchbox was filled with signature cookies from the DoubleTree, which helped bridge the gap between the boutique feel of the new space and the corporate brand.
