The 2011 Chevrolet Volt Press Kit

We’ve had a whirlwind of activity streaming through our office over the past few months. Deadlines have come and gone, and our team has worked hard to churn out some insanely creative work—while still maintaining some level of sanity.

Yes, we’re thrilled with the results that we’ve received from all of our clients’ projects. However, we’re admittedly extra pumped about our contribution to the 2011 Chevrolet Volt campaign. Since Chevrolet tapped us earlier this year to produce press materials for the Volt’s launch, we’ve worked closely with General Motors to develop materials that reflect the true spirit of this groundbreaking automobile. With that said, our goal was to create a final piece that is memorable, earth friendly and communicates the one-of-a-kind nature of the Chevrolet Volt.

While we’re no strangers to the world of new product press kits, typically the crux of our work supports pre-production product launch materials for members of the media. The Chevrolet Volt campaign meant we were going to handle a project in which the product was already in assembly. This press kit was handed to journalists as they experienced the driving capabilities of the Volt firsthand during the recent Chevrolet Volt media drive. We coordinated every aspect of this project, from initial design concepts through the process of manufacturing the plastic cases to the intricate design of the booklet and a USB drive, which mimics the Volt plug-in unit.

The Volt is a reflection of true American ingenuity, and in particular reflects the deep roots of Michigan, the birthplace of our country’s automotive industry. We made a point to echo these same sentiments through the Volt press kit. In a nod to our state’s history of innovation and rich heritage, we enlisted fellow Michigan companies to handle the manufacturing and printing duties of the Volt press kit.

In an effort to usher in a greener era in Michigan, the U.S. and the global auto industry, the contents of the kit are produced of recyclable materials, ensuring that we protect our valuable resources.
